A 21-YEAR-OLD has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an incident on New Year’s Day which left a 35-year-old man with severe head injuries.
Paul Oakden, of Kingswood Close, Bawtry, has been remanded in custody to appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court today.
Iain Eldridge from Auckley, remains in a critical condition in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.
The incident happened on New Year’s Day, at about 12.40am, on Station Road, Bawtry, Doncaster.
Mr Eldridge was with his girlfriend near the Penny Farthing pub when he was approached.
He was rushed to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, but later transferred to the Hallamshire.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 87 of January 1.
