A maker of threaded bar and cable systems for the civil engineering industry based in Dinnington has set its sights on expansion in the USA, thanks to support from RiDO’s Soft Landing Zone.
Macalloy worked with the Euro-funded organisation, as well as Enterprise Europe Network and UKTI, to identify new agents in key locations such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, Pittsburg, Washington DC and Philadelphia.
Market research unearthed contact details of architects, structural engineers and clients for several live projects covering stadiums, sports arenas, bridges and airports.
It also included competitor analysis and information on exhibitions and associations in the USA.
Some 80 per cent of Macalloy turnover is already from export, with the USA representing a huge potential market.
Project manager Martin Dootsan said: “We are already planning to attend a number of the exhibitions that were revealed in the research and are joining the recommended trade partnerships.”
