THE National Landlords Association is inviting South Yorkshire landlords to attend its next branch meeting where they can learn how changes to local housing allowance and benefits will affect them.
The meeting, open to all private landlords and letting agents, will be held from 5.15pm on Thursday, November 22, at The Rigby suite of Barnsley Metrodome.
Peter Francis, head of rights and community liaison at Barnsley Council, will discuss the introduction of Universal Credit allowances and benefits, and how landlords can work with their tenants and the council to minimise the impact of the changes.
Kath McDaid, from National Energy Action, will discuss new energy-saving initiative the Green Deal, under which landlords will be required to make homes more energy-efficient. Visit www.landlords.org.uk/membership for information on the Barnsley event.
