By day he’s an associate director at construction project management firm Turner & Townsend, but once out of the office he’s transformed - into an international hockey umpire.

Lee Barron, pictured front right, is the first European to be selected for the Asian Indoor Cup in Changhua, Taiwan, which is a qualifier for next year’s World Cup.

Lee, who is based in Sheffield, said: “This tournament will be challenging – there’s the journey and being away from the family for 12 days. But I’m sure the players will quickly respond to my Yorkshire accent when they realise I’m not happy. The plan is to gain top marks and selection to the 2015 World Cup in Leipzig, Germany.”
