TWO Sheffield law firms lead the field in family law across North, South and East Yorkshire, according to the latest edition of the Legal 500.
Irwin Mitchell and Howells both occupy the top rank, with Irwin Mitchell’s team, led by Martin Loxley, handling a number of requests to draw up pre-nuptial agreements during the last year and continuing to regularly advise high net worth individuals.
Alyson Siddall leads Howells’ family law operation which is divided into a team specialising in matrimonial law and a team dealing with laws covering children. The firm also boasts specialist knowledge in international adoption, abuse and ancillary relief claims.
The team at second ranked Taylor & Emmet is increasingly active in childcare issues, including international adoption, and clients highlight the efficiency and knowledge of legal executive Paul Roebuck
Bell & Buxton and Graysons, from Sheffield, are among eight firms – mainly from York and Hull, that gain a place in the third rank.
While Bell & Buxton’s team is headed by Louise Rawson, and provides advice on family law to employees of Sainsbury’s and RBS, the team at Graysons, which merged with Watson Esam, is led by Michelle Cooper and advises on divorce, children issues and domestic violence.
