Law firm Irwin Mitchell has been named alongside some of the UK’s leading businesses for its commitment to social responsibility.
The Sheffield-based company is one of only a few law firms to secure a place in the Business in the Community Top 100 Corporate Responsibility Index and improved its ranking from bronze to silver.
Chief executive John Pickering praised all of the staff involved in the law firm’s various efforts for their numerous social responsibility successes in the past 12 months.
Mr Pickering said: “Whether it is volunteering in the community, encouraging and communicating green ideas within the firm or offering pro-bono advice, everyone at Irwin Mitchell has worked hard to both improve and increase the firm’s social responsibility efforts.
“It is an outstanding achievement to make a leap into the silver performance band within three years of getting involved in the index and particular praise needs to be given to our Social Responsibility Committee.”
Irwin Mitchell’s silver ranking came as five staff from the firm’s Sheffield office set off to raise £1,000 for St Dunstan’s, the charity which provides training and rehabilitation to blind ex-service men and women.
