Lawyers from DLA Piper’s Sheffield office have spent a day in the saddle to raise money for the Master Cutler’s Challenge and Sheffield Mencap.

More than 50 staff cycled and rowed their way through the “Peak District Challenge” which set them the task of using gym rowing and cycling machines to cover the equivalent of rowing across Ladybower Reservoir and cycling around Castleton and Edale, over Whinnats Pass.

Matthew Shaw from DLA Piper said: “Despite the damp conditions, our volunteers did a fantastic job completing the challenge under the watchful gaze of the passing public - no easy feat. We were particularly pleased to welcome Billy and Nicola, two representatives from Sheffield Mencap, who were very helpful in spurring us all along.”

So far, the law firm has raised £8,500 for the Master Cutler’s Challenge and Sheffield Mencap through a range of events.
