A YOUNGSTER from Sheffield has got his career off to a flying start as he begins an apprenticeship with the UK’s leading material handling company, Linde.
Kyle Sagar, aged 16, was one of 18 new recruits selected from across the UK to join the company to begin training as a fork truck engineer.
He will be based on the site of the Wilkinsons distribution centre near Worksop, with a day each week and block release at Chesterfield College.
Kyle beat off competition from 100 applicants for his place and will become a fully qualified fork truck engineer at the end of the course.
He said: “I wanted to join the apprenticeship scheme as I enjoy working practically. Eventually I’d like to become an engineer so this is a great start for me.”
