Kirkham backs Iceland deal

DFS furniture chain founder and Doncaster entrepreneur Lord Kirkham is among a team of investors who have backed a buy-out of frozen food retailer Iceland by its founder, Malcolm Walker.

Liquidators of Icelandic bank Landsbanki and Glitnir have sold their 77 per cent stake in the business for £1.45 billion. Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Nomura and RBS are backing the deal to the tune of £860 million.
