Kier Building Maintenance is training maintenance staff in a range of skills so that it can provide a ‘full fix first time’ service for tenants of properties across Sheffield, Barnsley, Hull, Boston and Lincoln.

The company wants to minimise the need for repeat visits and reduce the disturbance caused to tenants, so team members in Sheffield and Boston have been taking part in a bespoke training scheme, set up by GTG Training, to learn new plastering and tiling skills.

Meanwhile, Keir’s own Technical Training Centre in Sheffield and Sheffield City Council’s Sheaf Training operation have focused on plumbing and joinery skills.

Kier’s Simon Bullen, said: “We are delighted our team have taken so positively to the training.”
