Construction group Kier is celebrating receiving a Gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for its continued commitment to health and safety in Sheffield and Barnsley.
The company is responsible for maintaining 42,000 council-owned homes and municipal buildings in Sheffield and is three years into a 10-year repairs and maintenance contract for Barnsley Council and Berneslai Homes, which manages 18,900 of Barnsley council’s homes.
Phil Oades, Kier senior operations director, said: “The welfare of our employees, residents and members of the public is our highest priority.
“We are committed to training our staff in the latest safety procedures to ensure we continue our successful accident-free record. Our operatives are consistent in their health and safety standards.”
