Kitchen, the Ecclesall Road restaurant which this year won a place in esteemed foodies’ bible The Good Food Guide, is about to change hands.
The venue, which won the guide’s Editors’ Award for Best Value for Money, was launched on the back of successful food events at next door’s wine shop and deli, Food And Fine Wine, run by former Harrods wine manager Adrian Walsh and Barnsley wine expert Mark Sutton.
The two teamed up with chef John Parsons, who became the third co-director.
John decided to move on two weeks ago. “The restaurant is in the process of changing hands,” says John.
“I want to build up my outside catering company, Feed The People and plan to stage pop-up supper clubs in Hathersage, where I live. I’m looking for unusual locations to throw four-course dinners in.”
His long-term aim is to open another restaurant. He reveals: “My dream location would be Hathersage and I fancy having a bakery with its own dining room.”
