Next is creating new jobs in Doncaster with major changes to one of its stores on a town retail park.

The firm is opening what it describes as a new ‘dual format’ store that combines fashion and, for the first time in the borough, a large home offering.

The new store on Wheatley Retail Park will stand at 29,804 sq ft with more than half dedicated to home.

Next has been on the retail park for more than 10 years and now is moving to a bigger unit as part of a huge redevelopment. The company says the changes at the shop mean 10 new jobs will be created at the site.

Chris Cook, store manager for the new Next Store, said: “We’re delighted to be getting a makeover at Wheatley Retail Park. The main difference is we will now have a fantastic home offering.

“Our customers won’t have to drive to other cities and towns for Next Home products.

“This store will now have it all, including fashion.”

With more space, Next says it will showcase a wider range of products than before.

The store itself will look ‘dramatically different’ say bosses, with a complete glass front which the company believes will make it a desirable shopping destination.

Another new addition to the store is a Costa Coffee coffee shop.

It will be located on the upper level of the store and will be one of only two places to grab a bite and have a drink on the retail park.

The new Next will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 7pm and 10am to 4.30pm.

It is the latest retail jobs boost, and follows confirmation that there will be 70 new jobs at the new B and M store at the former Tesco Church View site.
