VISITORS are flocking to a Sheffield hotel chain following Jessica Ennis’s sporting success at the Olympics.
Hotel chain Premier Inn has reported a 140 per cent rise in bookings at its Sheffield hotels in the wake of London 2012, compared with figures from last year.
The business claims the surge in reservations is down to the gold medal glory of Sheffield star Ennis.
The firm says some tourists have come to the city to soak up the sporting buzz and have their picture taken alongside Jess’s golden post box.
Claire Haigh, for Premier Inn, said: “It’s great to see sporting success has increased tourism in locations other than London.”
