Bosses from South Yorkshire’s leading manufacturers have been showing their shop floor skills under the eagle eye of their own apprentices.

The ‘Back to the Floor’ initiative was the brainchild of the newly opened AMRC Training Centre, to mark National Apprenticeship Week.

Among those taking part was Vince Middleton from Newburgh Engineering, left, who, despite never having served an apprenticeship, got the thumbs up from second cousin Torston Middleton, right, who is currently training at the centre.

“He’s been very very good,” said Torston. “The work’s been done on time and within tolerances. The standard of work is very impressive.”
