Sheffield law firm Irwin Mitchell has topped £200m in annual revenue for the second year in a row.
Income rose by 1.2 per cent to £202.7m, up on the £200.3m it earned in 12/13 when it exceeded £200m for the first time.
Group chief executive Andrew Tucker said income growth was seen in the business legal services division, multi-track personal injury and in group companies Ascent and Irwin Mitchell Asset Management, offsetting the impact of law reform on its motor team and some areas of personal injury.
Profit before tax fell in the year to £17.1m, compared to £18.7m the year before due to the impact of the sale of the Group’s Spanish business, Irwin Mitchell Abogados, in September and investment including the opening of the first of two regional offices in Southampton, with a second opening in Cambridge after the end of the financial year.
The firm also staged a high-level recruitment campaign which saw 26 new partners hired.
Andrew Tucker said: “This has been another year when we have continued to grow our business while making substantial investment for the future.”
