Developers behind ambitious plans for The Moor have pledged to put the shopping street at the heart of Sheffield’s retail scene.
The promise comes following the first phase of demolition on the block below Debenhams, which began last week. Units are being knocked down to make space for the retail and leisure scheme, backed by the Scottish Widows Investment Property Partnership Trust.
Spokesman Ranald Phillips said: “We want The Moor to be a shopping destination once again, to be an integral part of city centre retailing. We’re committed to bringing new shops, restaurants and leisure back. We are close to announcing a major retailer for the new unit next to Debenhams as well as agreeing terms with retailers for most of the new shop units alongside the market.”
