One of the fastest-growing banks in the UK has opened a new branch in Chesterfield.
Swedish group Handelsbanken opened a temporary office at the Dunston Innovation Centre last year and has now moved to permanent premises on Spire Walk.
Branch manager Phil Walker said: “Relocating to Spire Walk is the official launch of our permanent Chesterfield office and commitment to the town as we continue to roll out the Handelsbanken banking model throughout the UK.”
The new Chesterfield branch will serve customers in Matlock and the Peak District including Bakewell and Baslow, as well as Chesterfield.
Handelsbanken has had a branch in Sheffield for a number of years.
The bank differentiates itself from others by declining to operate remote call centres and ensuring customers are dealt with by people they know at their local branch.
The bank also does not have internal sales targets, mass marketing campaigns or bonus incentives for its staff.
