It takes place on Tuesday, September 20, at the company’s Manor Lane site and people attending can speak to staff from the company about its work and ask questions.

There will also be the opportunity to go on site visits to the company’s repairs call centre, stores, training centre and waste transfer station.

People can also see demonstrations of working at height, view Decent Homes refurbishment work and find out about the company’s work with Sheffield University.

A spokeswoman for Kier, which maintains the city’s 42,000 council houses, said: “The purpose of the visit is to provide our customer representatives with a wider understanding of the repairs service.

“It is also an opportunity to meet with key personnel from the Sheffield team. There will also be questionnaires during the registration with a session at the end of the day devoted to answering the queries.

“We will also be offering visitors the opportunity to put their name down for a ‘Rideout’ which is where a visitor would work-shadow an operative for a morning and there will be a barbecue lunch provided.”

Up to 100 people can attend the event and places are being allocated to tenants’ representatives first.
