DEPUTY Prime Minister Nick Clegg popped in for lunch at The Millhouses pub on Abbeydale Road, with his wife and children recently.

Manager Kaye Pigott said: “It was fantastic to see Mr Clegg and his family. Some staff were nervous but he loved his food, went into our kitchen to say thank you and promised to recommend it to his friends.”

DONCASTER shoppers got a new meaty eaterie last weekend.

Yorkshire based company Burger:Co opened its second restaurant and bar at the Frenchgate Shopping Centre’s Food Court. Hand-made gourmet burgers are on the menu.

Burger:Co got support from the Invest in Doncaster team and recruited local staff via Success Doncaster’s employment and skills team.

WORK has started on the transformation of popular food bar Champs on Ecclesall Road.

The venue will open under Sheffield chef Richard Smith’s Brewkitchen brand as the Graze Inn during September, with sharing platters on the menu and a kids eat free every day of the week offer.

Latin-American restaurant chain Las Iguanas, who have venues in Sheffield and Meadowhall, have just been awarded the highest accolade from Investors in People – the gold standard award.

It marks them out as one of the UK’s best employers. Staff incentive schemes include Race to Rio, an expenses-paid trip to Brazil, recently won by West One manager Stuart Curry.
