BURGERS are about to get Big, Bad and Dangerous at The Harley pub on Glossop Road.

The new menu features Once Bitten Twice Fried, a battered and deep-fried beef burger, and Krispy’s Dream, an 8oz pork burger with maple bacon, served in what looks suspiciously like a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

Marketing director Georgie West favours The Elvis, a beef, bacon, cheese, peanut butter and banana fritter combo, although she adds there will be health-conscious options too.

The menu launches with a week-long Man vs. Burger event. Get through to the final by eating an extra hot beef or bean burger served with ghost chilli and spiced fries in the fastest time. The winner gets a burger every week for a year.

A million cupcakes in, Sheffield company Fancie are about to cause a sugar rush in Barnsley and Doncaster.

Fancie stalls are now in situ in The Frenchgate Centre and outside Wilkinson’s in The Alhambra centre, says Amanda Perry, who started the business four years ago from her kitchen table and counts Rolf Harris, Matt Cardle and Paloma Faith among her cakes’ celebrity fans.

FREE wine and food-tasting nights kick off at Napoleon’s on Ecclesall Road tonight.

Expert James Grant of Yorkshire wine merchants Pagendam Pratt will be uncorking a range of wines from Australia, Russia, Chile and France from the Napoleon’s wine list.

Guests will also be able to trial mini tasting dishes from the award-winning restaurant menu.
