AN EXTRA rail service is being launched to help Sheffield’s business community while pressure from passengers has led to an additional train calling at Dronfield.
East Midlands Trains is putting on an earlier northbound service from London to Sheffield on weekdays, leaving the capital at 5.45am and arriving in Sheffield at 8.25am.
It which will allow people travelling north for business meetings to arrive before the start of the working day.
The change is being introduced in the company’s new timetable which begins from this Sunday.
Other improvements include extra carriages on the company’s services from Sheffield to Manchester and Nottingham.
There will also be faster journey times on many Sunday afternoon services to London and an additional northbound service from Dronfield on Sundays at 9.31am.
