AN ICE cream seller is applying for permission to trade at a third city centre site.
Andrew Cuneo, who already has street trading consents for pitches at the Peace Gardens and at the bottom of Fargate, near Boots, now wants to trade at the top of Fargate, close to the Town Hall.
Mr Cuneo said he plans to use a high quality trailer, which would trade from 10am to 7pm, seven days a week.
But Sheffield Council’s city centre management team said they would prefer to see a hot food trader at the site - although it recently refused to renew consent for Just Eat’s curry wagon which stood there for three years.
They were also concerned that Mr Cuneo would have a ‘monopoly’ of city centre trading sites.
His application is to be considered at a meeting of Sheffield Council’s licensing board on Tuesday.
