Staff at a Sheffield hotel have raised thousands of pounds to sponsor a room in the new wing of The Children’s Hospital.
The team at DoubleTree by Hilton on Chesterfield Road South raised more than £5,000 to kit out a new room in a wing of the hospital which is currently being built.
The money means the room will be furnished ‘above and beyond’ NHS level provision.
The new wing is being built as part of a £40m redevelopment at the hospital over three years. A new section of the hospital is being built at Western Bank linking to the current hospital.
Laura Kelly, sales manager at DoubleTree, said: “It’s all about making it fun and thinking of different ideas to raise money to get people involved with it.
“The charity and hospital are dedicated to providing an outstanding level of care to every patient that passes through their hospital doors.
“Every day they are doing amazing amounts of work to help save the lives of so many children not only in the UK, but across the world.”
David Vernon-Edwards, director of The Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “The support of firms like DoubleTree means we can make it better for the hundreds of thousands of patients who come for treatment each year.
“The money raised through room sponsorship gives businesses a tangible goal for fundraising, and helps boost morale.
“We are delighted at how quickly DoubleTree reached their goal and look forward to working with them on more fundraising in the future.”
