HEALTH and safety staff at a Doncaster housing organisation have been awarded the highest possible rating by the British Safety Council.

After a recent audit of St Leger Homes of Doncaster’s health and safety systems, the organisation was awarded five stars.

The rating from the British Safety Council shows outside agencies and organisations that St Leger Homes has a strong health and safety culture with robust policies and procedures in place.

The top rating may also give St Leger Homes a competitive edge if it bids or tenders for any commercial contracts.

Chief executive Susan Jordan said: “This is fantastic news. My health and safety staff, and staff across the organisation, have worked hard to achieve this accreditation. I want to say well done to them all.

“The achievement also gives tenants peace of mind whenever one of our staff knocks on their front door to carry out a repair or maintenance to their home.”
