Hathersage architect in awards win for his studio

The president of the Sheffield Society of Architects has been named as the winner of two Royal Institute of British Architects 2014 regional awards.

Simon Gedye - founder of Studio Gedye - won the RIBA East Midlands Awards 2014 for The Studio in Hathersage where the practice is based. It won the Small Projects Award 2014 and also an overall project award.

Simon worked in Sheffield as an architect and in 2008 set up his own practice in the Derbyshire village.

It has worked on Sum Studios, a £2 million project in the former Ann’s Grove School, Heeley, and the Discovery Centre at Longshaw.
