Green boost for stainless

Stainless steel manufacturers have got a boost from the biofuels sector, according to research by The Nickel Institute.

A study by the not for profit organisation, which represents the interests of companies producing more than 75 per cent of the world’s annual nickel output, found that stainless, discovered a century ago by Sheffield metallurgist Harry Brearley, had become the “material of choice” for many applications in the bioethanol, biodiesel and biogas sectors.
