Barclays Corporate has agreed a refinancing deal that will enable motor dealer Gordon Lamb to achieve its ambitious growth plan.

The family business, which was established in 1953, employs more than 220 people, sells around 6,000 cars and vans a year and services around 30,000 vehicles.

Gordon Lamb is about to add a dealership in Derby to its existing operation in Sheffield and Chesterfield and has franchises for Range Rover, Land Rover, Nissan, Skoda, and Toyota, in addition to operating authorised service centres for Renault and Jaguar.

The company, headed by Stephen Lamb, the third generation of the Lamb family to run the business, has also transferred its day to day banking to Barclays.
