Not many companies celebrate going down in the world. But a trip to a mine in Colombia could be the best thing a Sheffield firm has done.

Conflow, a maker of dust and fire suppression systems for the mining industry, has won a major contract with Colombian producer of coking coal CI Milpa.

A team visited the CI Milpa mine in Bogota and fitted two dust systems and a fire suppression system on a roadway in another location.

Managing director, Mark Henley (third from right), said: “This is the start of a relationship with CI Milpa and we are looking forward to developing our business in Columbia because of the large amount of mining in the country.”
