Wentworth and Dearne MP John Healey has praised Manvers-based Gala Tent for its growth and contribution to job creation.

Mr Healey was visiting the company during a trade show held at its Fairfield Park headquarters.

He said: “It is great to see how the business is growing and creating new jobs and opportunities, both in this area and around the country.

“It was fantastic to take a look around their showroom and to see how a Rotherham company is driving forward new innovations in the event industry.”

More than 200 visitors attended the show, at which Gala launched its latest innovations – a three metre square compact gazebo that fits into the boot of a car and the Gala Lodge, a timber cabin that is intended as either a retreat for the garden or accommodation for a holiday or leisure park.

Gala Tent’s founder and managing director Jason Mace said the show had been a great success, attracting lots of interest from trade customers, consumers and market traders.

The Manvers company donated five per cent of the profits from the show to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
