Fuel measure pleases firm

A SHEFFIELD haulage and logistics company has backed the Chancellor of Exchequer’s decision to cancel a rise in fuel duty later in the year.

DBL Logistics, based on Europa Close, distributes goods across the country and between December 2012 and February 2013 used around 50,000 litres of fuel.

A potential rise in fuel duty in September would have cost the company a further £1,500 a quarter.

MD David Clarkson said: “The price of fuel continues to increase and any additional cost would have severely hampered our long-term plans.”
