Fund-raising could be a piece of cake for cancer charity worker Lesley Nicol.
She hopes to trek through Thailand on the proceeds of a recipe book.
A collection of 60 baking recipes donated by oncology and haematology staff at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, It’s a piece of cake! launches on Tuesday at an Easter Bake in the Children’s Hospital foyer from 10am.
Lesley works at the hospital for CLIC Sargent, a charity for children and young adults with cancer. “I am doing the trek for Josie’s Dragonfly, one of the small charities that work with Clic Sargent, and for the Wishing Well Foundation, a charity helping young Thai cancer patients,” explains Lesley.
“My work friends make fabulous cakes and we came up with the idea of turning their family favourites into a fund-raising recipe book.”
Books can also be ordered from Lesley on 0114 2717406.
