The Frenchgate Centre and bus firm First will be delivering free bus travel to shoppers one day a month on a new bus.
The launch of the first fully-liveried Frenchgate bus will allow people to ride completely free of charge on the 27th day of every month between 10am and 3pm.
The service will be on a different route into the town centre each month and will be publicised on the morning of the 27th on Facebook page and Twitter.
“The aim is to get the bus out in different areas on each free day so everyone has a chance to get on it for free. Frenchgate Centre is effectively paying the fare of everyone who uses the bus that day,” said a spokesman.
