Creative Sheffield business investment director David Fletcher is leaving the city’s inward investment and promotion arm after more than 10 years in the role.
During that time, Mr Fletcher has played a leading part in attracting new companies to the city and helping existing companies to grow.
He also played an important role in putting in place measures to help companies hit by the Sheffield Floods in 2007.
Mr Fletcher said: “Its been both a privilege and an honour to serve Sheffield, and hopefully I’ve made some sort of meaningful contribution to the ongoing regeneration of the City.
“I’ve also enjoyed working together with many different people and organisations with the shared goal of making our City and the region a successful place. I am passionate about my home city, so this has not been an easy decision to reach, but I do feel that it really is now time for me to move on to a new and fresh challenge.”
Mr Fletcher said the highpoint of his career with Creative Sheffield was attracting printing company Polestar to the city and when its predecessor, Sheffield First For Investment, was named a world-leading inward investment agency in 2006.
David Fletcher joined Sheffield First For Investment from the property and construction sector, becoming Creative Sheffield’s business and investment director of when it absorbed the organisation.
