Land in Sheffield which sold for more than 13 times its guide price was the stand-out sale at Eadon Lockwood and Riddle’s recent summer auction.

The five-acre site, in Dore’s green belt area, had been listed for only £30,000, but became part of a tug-of-war between two parties before the hammer fell at £415,000.

Other successful sales included the former Vicarage at Stocksbridge which sold for £185,000, after being listed at just £150,000.

Nick Riddle, auctioneer, said: “I am amazed by some of the figures the properties sold for – particularly the land in Dore.”
