First class new services

BUS company First has spent £2.5 million on a fleet of new buses and created dozens of jobs by launching extra routes in Rotherham and Doncaster.

From May, the operator will begin to run a new number 22 service between Rotherham and Barnsley, via the Dearne Valley and routes in Doncaster to serve Scawsby and Sprotbrough.

First said the buses on the new services will be low floor, with easy access for customers with pushchairs or using wheelchairs, and feature CCTV cameras.

The new routes in Doncaster will run to Sprotbrough every 15 minutes and serve Scawsby every 20 minutes. Both will operate Monday to Saturday between 7am and 7pm.
