DONCASTER businesses are being urged to have contingency plans in place to deal with bad weather.

With a freezing February and last month’s snow storms, businesses need to make sure they have plans in place to minimise further disruption, a local solicitor has said.

Sarah Naylor of Atherton Godfrey said: “It’s surprising how many employers don’t have plans and policies in place to ensure business operations continue during periods of bad weather.

“It is essential that businesses have a contingency plan in place to make sure they can operate with a skeleton staff, and have robust policies in place to ensure a consistent approach to those who are unable to get in.”
