A SHEFFIELD-based play equipment firm is celebrating after winning a £330,000 contract to revamp a park close to the Olympic village in London.
Timberplay, based at Aizlewood’s Mill, Nursery Street, on the edge of the city centre, is to carry out the work at Victoria Park, in Tower Hamlets as part of a wider £12 million, Lottery-funded park restoration project.
The new play area will include Timberplay’s signature pieces, a Pyramid Tower and Climbing Forest. Sand and water also feature heavily within the design.
Martyn Scholey, sales and marketing director at Timberplay, said: “To win a contract right next to the Olympic Village is a considerable coup for Timberplay. Our equipment will be seen and used by children from around the world.”
