A Doncaster-based specialist designer and manufacturer of outdoor furniture has secured more than £500,000 to help it bridge the lean times in winter.
Anchor Fast Products sells to schools and pubs, through retailers, and via export to the USA, Australia, Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
Financial director James Hodson explained why the company needed the loans: “Our main selling period runs from January to July .
“But we need to manufacture throughout the whole year so we are ready to meet the heavy customer demand in our sales period. Without the finance in place we simply could not manufacture our products so the funding was essential for us to plan for a successful 2014.”
The company, based on the Shaw Lane Industrial Estate in Doncaster, was established in 2006 after a management buyout. It now employs 25 full time members of staff. Funding came from UK Steel Enterprise, HSBC and Finance Yorkshire.
Keith Williams, regional manager for UK Steel Enterprise, said: “It’s great to see a local manufacturer of high quality products thriving.”
