Sheffield Council members will tomorrow vote on whether to grant a new licence to a lap dancing bar.
Spearmint Rhino, in the Cultural Industries Quarter, has submitted an application for the renewal of its sexual entertainment venue licence.
Papers set out rules for punters, including ‘customers are not allowed to dance at any time’ and ‘no propositioning the dancers’ and a ban on mobile phones other than in emergencies.
The council has received an objection from a member of the public raising concerns over the welfare of Sheffield Hallam University students, who study near to the Brown Street building.
The letter also accuses Spearmint Rhino of ‘detrimental to the character of the locality’.
The council’s licensing sub-committee is set to make a decision on the application at a meeting tomorrow.
