Six jobs have been created with the launch of an independent women’s fashion retailer at Sheffield’s Crystal Peaks shopping centre.

Roman has opened a branch at the Waterthorpe centre offering the company’s full range including daywear, eveningwear, workwear, outerwear and special occasion clothing.

Originally established in 1957, the family-owned women’s fashion empire started out as a manufacturing business based in Birmingham, but now has more than 150 outlets across the UK.

Lee Greenwood, Crystal Peaks manager, said: “In our 25th anniversary year we are delighted to welcome Roman.

“Roman is an extremely popular high street name and we are particularly pleased they have chosen to make their first appearance in Sheffield with us, creating another great reason to visit Crystal Peaks.”

A further new store opening soon at Crystal Peaks will be a fundraising shop for St Luke’s Hospice in Whirlow.

The branch will have a full-time manager and deputy manger.

Other posts at the shop, due to launch in the autumn, will be filled by volunteers.
