A Sheffield steel fabrication company is advertising 10 new jobs and two apprenticeships after a record year.
Dearneside Fabrications is working on 20 sites up and down the country after receiving orders worth more than £10m in the last year.
The firm, which makes steel stairs, balustrades and balconies, struck silver after targeting prestigious, large developments in London.
It is working on a £1m balcony package in Ebury Square, Chelsea, where penthouse apartments will go for £25m. It has several similar jobs either underway or on order and follows the completion of the London Designer Outlet in Wembley.
The firm is also on site at the Victoria Shopping centre in Nottingham, Huddersfield leisure centre and will work on the new Westfield shopping centre in Bradford.
Dearneside is based on Wallace Road near the old Ski Village at Parkwood Springs.
Matthew Horrobin, business development manager, said the 95-employee firm was planning to expand after buying a three-acre neighbouring plot - and a London office could follow.
He added: “We’ve capitalised on the improvement in the London property market in the last year.
“We are inundated with large projects in London and are now having to be selective about what we take.
“It’s better than not being busy, but it’s a lot of hard work. The target is to have a forward order book worth £10m - it’s currently at £7m - which will keep us busy 16 months in front.
“Our success is down to competitive pricing, quality workmanship and going down and presenting to clients. Some of us are in London three days a week and the contracts manager is back and forth all the time so a London base is something we’re looking at.”
The firm has 10 vacancies including platers, welders, erectors and office staff, he added.
The firm is “proud” to source mild and stainless steel locally.
Suppliers include John S Shackleton (Sheffield) Ltd, Hillsborough Steel, ESP Laser Cutters, SLP, Ascent Precision, Express Coatings, Rollmaster Rings Ltd and Cutting Edge Woodworkers.
