It holds thousands of books by some of the world’s most famous authors, including Alan Bennett, and it has entrusted a Sheffield company with the task of transferring them all to a new database.

Faber and Faber has hired AAG Systems of Killamarsh to transfer its entire digital catalogue of books from several old hard drives of different ages into one new one.

The job will see four AAG staff at Faber and Faber’s Bloomsbury premises for several weeks. AAG already provides the book firm’s IT.

Faber and Faber was established in 1929 and has published T. S. Eliot, Samuel Beckett, William Golding, Gunter Grass and a host of others.

AAG was Formed in 2009 has £5m turnover, employs 35 and includes Slimming World, and Hugo Boss and departments at Oxford and Cambridge Universities among its clients.
