Extended Doncaster Aldi store set to reopen

An Aldi store is set to reopen next week, after a three month extension project.

The Barnsley Road branch of the discount supermarket is due to re-open next Thursday at 8am, when customers will be able to access the extended 960sqm store for the first time. The store will close on Sunday and reopen on 
An official ribbon cutting ceremony involving Store Manager, Emma Oxley and the Under 14s Scawsby Scorpions Junior Football Club team will take place on October 29.

Aldi Store Manager, Emma Oxley said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming our customers back into the store after the three month extension project, and we’re also hoping to see some new faces.

She added: “I’d like to thank the local community for their patience during this time and hope they enjoy their new look store.”

As part of Aldi’s community engagement initiative the store, which originally opened in 1993, has sponsored the under 14 team at Scawsby Scorpions Junior Football Club and has provided kits and rain jackets for the season.

The store will also be supporting Scawsby Saltersgate Infant School by donating a range of products for the school’s Christmas fair.

The extension of Aldi’s store on Barnsley Road has created an additional five jobs, and Aldi is currently looking to recruit Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers and Deputy Store Managers for other stores in the Doncaster area.

The newly extended store will stock around 1,500 product lines and will also feature Aldi’s ‘Specialbuys’ days occurring every Thursday and Sunday offering customers savings on a range of electrical and household products. Aldi’s opening week ‘Specialbuys’ include: Compact Bread Makers (was £39.99, now £29.99) and 2.5HP Air Compressors (was £89.99, now £69.99).

Following its re-opening, the store located on Barnsley Road, will be open:

Monday – Saturday: 8.00am – 10.00pm

Sunday: 10.00am – 4.00pm
