A free roadshow aimed at helping life science and healthcare companies in the north to drive exports is being held in Sheffield.
It will offer the chance to meet healthcare experts and buyers from key nations in the region where healthcare and life science are seeing rapid expansion, including Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania.
UK Trade and Investment healthcare experts will be on hand to discuss trends, opportunities and business cultures. The event, on February 23 at Bramall Lane Stadium, is organised by UKTI and trade body Medilink.
Mark Robson, UKTI regional director for Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “As the Northern Powerhouse continues to switch from traditional industry to being a modern, diverse and flexible region with a focus on research and development of pioneering products across a wide range of business sectors, the importance of burgeoning and specialist areas such as life science and healthcare becomes ever more evident.
“With a GDP of almost £350 billion, the Northern Powerhouse economy is larger than that of Taiwan, Sweden or Denmark and is the 21st biggest economy in the world.
“Spanning the North of England, the Northern Powerhouse unites a host of the UK’s biggest cities and pools a wealth of world-class expertise and business talent.”
Northern Powerhouse Central and Eastern European Clinics Roadshows are also being held at St James’ Park in Newcastle and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
