CODA Studios has notched up a double success.
Managing director David Cross has been named South Yorkshire Property Personality of the Year and the company has won the award for the Best Commercial Building up to £1 million in the South Yorkshire & Humber Local Authorities Building Excellence Awards for its work on the Rob Royd Farm Shop in Barnsley.
News of the successes came as the company was on the brink of doing a deal to build an entire town, close to Sheffield’s twin city of Chengdu in China.
David Cross said: “I’m very proud to be named Property Personality of the Year, and it obviously reflects the efforts of the whole team at Coda as we have continued to be positive and strive for success when it could be very easy to get wrapped up in how tough it is out there.
“We are a young team at Coda, but 2012 has been the year that we’ve firmly established ourselves among the region’s prestige design firms.
“We have seen an increase in enquiries, turnover and profits, despite the market conditions; and on the back of this we are recruiting more staff and looking to open a Leeds office before the end of the year.
“We have got more than £10m of projects going to site this year. This varies from student accommodation to retail, industrial and education projects.”
