Dragons’ Den star Doug Richard will urge aspiring entrepreneurs to turn their creative talents into businesses at a TEDx talk in Sheffield.
The serial entrepreneur will be speaking at the ideas conference on Saturday in the city centre - part of the globally renowned Technology, Entertainment and Design series of short talks.
It follows the launch of his School for Creative Startups Sheffield.
The school, the first one outside London, aims to give creative types the skills to set up in business.
It is run in partnership with The Sheffield College.
Courses begin in January 2015 and applications are open until midnight on November 30.
Doug Richard said: “There is so much creative talent in the North, we want to equip as many people as possible with the business know-how to turn their innovative ideas into viable startups giving both themselves and, in the future others, full-time employment.”
He will give the closing speech, ‘The Rise of The Creative Entrepreneur’ at TEDx Sheffield at 5pm on November 15 at St George’s Church, Portobello .
