Staff at a new Sheffield supermarket branch celebrated the shop’s opening with a charity donation.
The Tesco Express in Manchester Road, Crosspool, welcomed its first customers last week. Iona Bendell from Blind Veterans UK and Sadie Dennett from Cairn Home, part of the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, were guests of honour and invited to cut the ribbon.
As part of the celebrations shop manager Nick Firkins and his team presented the charities with cheques for £250 each. Nick said: “We have really enjoyed our store launch celebrations and I would like to thank Blind Veterans UK and
Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind for joining us. We are delighted to support them with a combined donation of £500.”
