The opportunities and challenges involved in setting up a business abroad will come under the spotlight at a special Round Table discussion, organised by Finch Insurance Brokers and The Star’s business publications.
The event, which takes place next week at Finch’s offices at the Sheffield Business Centre, will involve a panel of leading figures from local businesses that have set up operations abroad or are in the process of doing so.
Also on hand to contribute to the discussion will be a number of experts on international law, taxation, risk management and cultural awareness – a key factor in ensuring unwitting insensitivity doesn’t hamper the new operation. Chris Finch, head of Finch Insurance Brokers’ Sheffield office, said: “Having a physical presence in foreign markets can bring all sorts of advantages, including tax benefits and increased acceptance by potential customers.
“However, there are all sorts of issues which can easily be overlooked and can pose potential problems.
Star Business Editor Bob Rae will be chairing the discussions.
Edited highlights of the round table discussion will appear in The Star’s Business Monthly magazine and as a video and text on The Star’s website: http://www.thestar.co.uk/.
