Proud residents of South Yorkshire are being sought to showcase the region to visitors ahead of a big sporting event.
National body the Blue Badge Guides Association is on the hunt for people who love where they live and are willing to share their enthusiasm and knowledge with tourists.
The call comes as Yorkshire prepares to welcome Le Grand Départ of the Tour de France cycle race next summer, expected to prompt a tourism boom.
Many group holidays and tour operators seek the Blue Badge accredited guides when looking for things to do and places to stay.
With the number of existing Blue Badge Guides dwindling, a new training programme has been planned to cater for the potential rise in demand next year.
Louise Keegan, chairwoman of the Blue Badge Guide Association, said: “This qualification is the benchmark of quality in the tourism industry.”
